What's new in lapel

The notable changes, newest first. We build in the open and keep this honest: only what actually shipped.

  1. Sharper analytics, a tidier admin

Every chart now reveals exact numbers on hover, and the admin console is organised into clear sections.

    • NewDashboard, analytics and admin charts share one kit: y and x axes, dashed gridlines, and a hover tooltip with the exact value so you never estimate from a bar height.
    • ImprovedThe admin console is split into Overview, Infra and Users sections instead of one long page, with device and plan mixes shown as donuts.
    • FixedThe import screen keeps your résumé visible with the scan sweeping over it for the whole read, instead of flashing past.
    • FixedCustomise hub now reliably opens in a new tab, and the hub has a clear Back to editor button.
    • FixedA photo detected in an imported PDF is squared up front, so it no longer shows half-cut on your hub.
  2. Link hub and QR code

Turn any résumé into a shareable mini-page with a scannable code.

    • NewPublish a link hub for any résumé at me.lapel.studio, with your headline, photo, availability, links, featured projects and skills.
    • NewA QR code on the résumé opens your hub, turning a printed copy into a tap at a careers fair or interview.
    • NewThe hub is generated from your résumé and stays in sync: edit your projects or skills once and both update.
    • ImprovedEvery link on the hub and résumé is click-tracked, so you can see which ones recruiters actually open.
  3. Clean public subdomains

Your shared links look like they belong to you.

    • NewPublished résumés serve from cv.lapel.studio and hubs from me.lapel.studio, with short tracked links behind each click count.
    • ImprovedPublic pages are cached at the edge and refreshed automatically, so a recruiter on a phone gets them instantly.
    • ImprovedLinks are tied to your slug, not a database id, so the address someone saved keeps working after you re-publish.
  4. Honest AI tailoring

Tailor to a job without inventing anything.

    • NewPaste a job description and lapel suggests where your real experience could use the job's own language, with a readiness score.
    • NewEvery AI suggestion arrives as a diff you accept, edit or reject. Nothing changes on your page until you say so.
    • ImprovedThe model is held to one rule: it may rephrase what you wrote, never invent a skill or number you did not claim.
  5. Import the résumé you already have

Bring a file and review every field before anything saves.

    • NewImport a PDF, DOCX or photos of your résumé, or paste the text. Multi-page uploads combine into one document.
    • NewDesigned and multi-column PDFs that text extraction garbles are read with vision OCR automatically.
    • ImprovedYour file is parsed in-session and never stored. You review and edit every parsed field before opening it in the editor.
  6. ATS-safe templates and exports

One renderer, single column, what you see is what the parser sees.

    • NewA set of single-column, standard-heading templates that an applicant tracking system reads cleanly.
    • NewExport to text-based PDF and DOCX. The live preview is the exact document you send.
    • NewInstall lapel as an app and keep editing offline, in light or dark.
